The ESSL ART AWARD is dedicated to the discovery and support of art students in Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Slovenia and Slovakia and Turkey. One main goal of the award is to offer a broad and multi-layered insight into the young art scene of Central and South-Eastern Europe. Since 2005 the award is conferred every two years.
At the so called Nominees' Nights, taking place in each country in May/June 2015, a jury of 13 arts professionals with representative s from each country selects the winners of the ESSL ART AWARD CEE 2015 (two per country) directly on site. Additionally, the VIG Special Invitation will be awarded to one nominee per country by the main shareholder of the Vienna Insurance Group.
The exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art Metelkova may be visited from May 11 - May 17, 2015.

Two donations of each EUR 3.500, - per country, presentation in a group exhibition at the Essl Museum (Klosterneuburg/Vienna, Austria), as well as the VIG Special Invitation with one person per country with an artist fee of EUR 1.000,- and a show at Ringturm, Vienna.
The Essl Museum
The Essl Museum for contemporary art offers a forum for an open exploration of present-day art. Up to ten exhibitions a year showcase Austrian and international artists in solo shows, thematic exhibitions and group shows which focus on emerging artists. The Essl Museum draws from the Essl collection, which focuses on Austrian art from 1945 onwards and reflects international contemporary art trends from Europe, USA, Australia and Asia.
