Nearly sixty years after it was established, Moderna galerija is to be renovated, and the works start this summer. But before they actually do, the premises will be open and available, one last time, to "artists, curators, critics, students, children, workers - all our visitors and everyone else interested in the future of Moderna galerija to take part in its makeover by becoming members of a 'Society of Independent Curators'."

Over 100 participants have responded to the call so far. Their projects will be on view on Saturday from 9 p.m. till midnight, and then every day except Mondays, from 10 a.m. till 6 p.m. until the renovation works start.

For the youngest participants, the exhibition opens at 8 p.m.

PROGRAM next week:
On Tuesday, 19 June 2007, at 6 p.m.:
The artists will organize a public presentation of the renovation of Moderna galerija and invite the architects - Bevk Perovič arhitekti, the investor - the Ministry of Culture and the users of the building - Moderna galerija and its visitors. With this public presentation the artists wish to invite the main parties involved to publicly display the renovation design and to encourage the public to critically respond to it.
